I love PrAIRies

It feels like the week is going slow but yet its almost Wednesday. This morning I got up and went to Ecology. We watched a movie on prairies because our teacher loves them a little to much. She let us oeut of class like 15 minutes early so Sean,Lauren M., and I went and got something from Jazzman's. We sat in Cafe Rouge for awhile before we left to go to our classes at 11. P.R. is going to cause extreme blood pressure this semester because no matter what the day, he still manages to scare me with his talk of grades or assignments but at least he is really nice when I ask for his help on something. He did ok my client choice so for the rest of the semester, I get to work with Mandi and write press releases about SOMO for my assignments! The packet that I spent along time on we ended up going over today and being able to fix or add any notes that we wanted. After class I went and ate lunch. I went back to my room and it was weirdly quiet again. At 2 I went to Editorial. I love that class because we all joke with each other and Mr. Mitchell teaches us but we have fun learning from him. After class I came back here. Kaitlin moved in the rest of her stuff. Since Dalton said that we could have his loft since it is way taller, he and Sean carried it in and put it together. One of the screws on the bottom would not move and we were trying everything to get it. Dalton found pliers and Sean got it indone. We got the loft put together and then went to supper with the other half of the room a mess. We came back after supper and finished unpacking stuff. Kaitlin,Kaci, Shelli, Morgan, Whitney, Lauren and I watched Glee.It was Michael Jackson themed. I went and did my laundry afterwards. Kaitlin and I got the rest of the stuff put away and organized. When I was getting my clothes out of the dryer, I met a girl down there,Nikki and we chatted while we folded clothes.Now I am going to get ready for bed because I am tired. Tomorrow is my busiest day of the week and I am going to need God's help to get everything done. I am glad to have a roommate tonight :). Good night!

Moving

You know that whole I can handle it this week well I forgot what Monday's are like.It's only 10:15 and I fell like its midnight already. This morning I got up and went to Studio. I came back and took my quiz then just wasted time on pinterest since I didn't have any homework to do for tomorrow. Katie, Kaitlin and I went to talk to  Housing when Katie got back from class. Everything went through smoothly and they were given 48 hours to have all their stuff moved. It was early but we went and ate since we were hingry. Kaci and her roommate were there so we sat with them. After lunch I came back and helped Katie carry stuff to her car. I went to class while she went and unloaded stuff. I should of just helped her because Race,Class, and Gender was dumb. I sat between two guys which was a huge mistake because they just spent the class mouthing stuff to each other and then everyone was mad at the teacher because they didn't like her definition of racism when it was pointless to argue about it because she obviously wasn't changing her mind. After class I went and got a smoothie and killed time in the lounge before class. Some random guy came and sat on the couch next to the chair I was in even though there were a ton of other couches. I went to Forum. We waited on the speaker for 40 minutes until she finally got there but she was pretty cool. She is a photo rep for a company in K.C. I came back and skyped with Mom for like 2 minutes so I could see Casen really quick. I went and ate dinner with my friends. Then we came back and moved the rest of Katie's things then went to Kaitlin's room and packed her,my and Jesse's vehicle full. There were a bunch of guys sitting on a table outside of Fitzgerald and it was obvious they had been drinking or something.One guy was like will you go out with me jokingly. I have had enough of the creepy guys today. We brought most of Kaitlin's stuff over and unpacked it and rearranged the room. Katie came back over and got signed out. It has been an interesting ride with this whole moving situation because her sorority has been playing games finding her a roommate,trying to make her pay fees that she doesn't need to and what not but they finally got it settled. I skyped Ashley for awhile.I watched Glee on my computer afterwards.Now I am probably going to go to bed.It's so weird being by myself tonight. Its strange how you can be surrounded by so many people you know but at the same feel so alone. I am fine don't get me wrong,its just weird. Well good night!

Words with Friends

I can't believe the weekends over already. This is like the first week since we have been back from break that I am not stressing over especially since I know Friday at 10am I will be on the road home. I am sure its going to be a pretty chaotic week especially since Katie found a roommate tonight so we go to housing tomorrow to figure everything out. This morning we got up and went to church. The minister's sermon was on marriage this morning and it was really good.It was also baby dedication day which made me want to hold a baby really bad. I can't wait to see Casen next weekend and possibly the new baby. After church we came back to Ellis and ate. I had blueberry pancakes so I was pretty happy. At lunch we spent the whole time playing Words with Friends (like scrabble but on facebook). Katie and I came back and I painted my nails and then was actually kind of lazy this afternoon. I read my Studio and Race,Class and Gender then took a nap. Lately taking a nap has not been an easy task because someone comes in here all the time or someone or something (aka car alarm) is making noise. For some reason I felt like watching cartoons so I turned on Phineas and Ferb. I didn't even have to watch it since dad is not here but I did anyone. I got up and decided to start playing Words with Friends (big mistake). We went to Ellis to eat. This lady came by and asked if she could take our picture while eating so we all just kept on making jokes at each other while she took her photos. After eating we came back to Katie and I's room. Justin and Russ hung out for a while then left and Katie went to her sorority meeting. Kaci, Kaitlin and Lauren came over and we watched A Smile as Big as the Moon. It is about a special ed teacher who gets his students to go to space camp. It was really good. I love being apart of SOMO everyday and this movie only reminded me. In between commercials we were only playing Words with Friends. I should never have started because now I am going to be addicted. Now I am going to do some bible reading before bed. Lacy had her baby today. She had a boy, Calain Lee. He was a few weeks early but from the pictures he is so cute. I got to talk to my sister, Zack and Zoe.I definitely miss my family!Well good night!Here's too a great and quick week.

So many thoughts to think

This morning I got up and got ready to head to K.C. for the polar plunge. Mr. Mitchell assigned us that we either had to go to shoot several sports in one semester or shoot a big event so I asked to do the polar plunge. When I said big event I was thinking about how big the northeast plunge. Now don't get me wrong ours is big for our area size. Kansas City's polar plunge is huge. I got there 20 minutes till. There were already so many cars that they were using trolleys to shuttle people to the beach. I checked in at the media table when I got there. Diannah, Sheryl and Laurie were working so I talked to them then went to watch the plunge begin. I was not sure how I was going to get a picture but soon learned that media could go right next to the water so that is exactly were I went. I took my VIP spot lol and got all the photos I wanted. I found Amy who just finished the Super plunge-what a brave soul. There were 1,100 plungers (the estimate). Even though it was crowded, I was excited at the number of people raising money for SOMO. Ray Pec had a big crowd and plunged in honor of a student/athlete who died last week which was really inspiring. I found Kathy's group. They were all dressed as bears. After taking their pictures I left. I drove to Chris's. We watched the Ku/Iowa game for a little bit before the movie and Iowa State won hehe. I don't cheer for them but when it's against Ku I do. Mu won I would just like to add today. Some of our YAC members were even at that game spreading the word to end the word. We went and saw Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. It was good, I wasn't too sure what to think because there was so much to take in from the movie. It was really sad and I could not stop thinking about the victims who lost their lives at 9/11. Sandra Bullock says in the movie that she doesn't understand why some man choose to fly a plane into the twin towers and she doesn't understand why a man choose to kill her husband that he didn't even know. This made me think a lot because why do people do what they do? I am sorry if I am getting deep on here but seriously? Why do people abuse other people, why do bombings and killings happen,why does anything bad happen? It all leads back to when Adam and Eve ate from the tree and thank goodness we have a God that loves us enough to get us through all this and that bring the good into the situation. Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sin so that we could join God in heaven one day where we will never have to worry about that. After the movie, Chris and I went and ate Winstead's which was good. I dropped him off and came back to the burg. I called my mom and dad on the way home and talked to them. Lacy is currently at the hospital but no baby yet. I made it back without getting lost or having any problems during my trip. To me this is my testimony because I prayed hard before I left that I wouldn't worry about my car, getting lost or any problems related and God guided me safely. Justin wanted to watch a movie at 8:30 so we met in his room but then decided we wanted to watch Courageous and I was really thirsty so he,Russ, Katie and I went to Burger king. When we got there, the registers weren't working so we waited for them to get fixed. Katie and Russ went and played on the play place (mind you we were the only people there). We waited around and they finally got them fixed. We got our 9 oclock snackage and then went to Family Video. We got Courageous and came back and watched it. It is such a good movie, not just for fathers but for everyone I think. It makes you think so much and the strength that God gave those men to hold to their resolution is incredible. If you haven't seen, you should go rent it. Now Katie and I are getting ready for bed so that we aren't too tired for church tomorrow. Really great Saturday. I am ready to get to see my family next weekend though.Good night!

Slow day

Today is Friday finally!Happy Birthday Kaitlin, Dalton, and Sean M.!This morning I got up and went to Studio. I was so tired this morning and I don't know why since Katie and I went to bed earlier then we have been last night. When I got back from class, Katie and I went to the gym. I was able to run a mile only with God's help though because he gave strength. After we got done working out, we went to Subway. I got a meatball marinara and it was amazing. We ran a few errands and then came back to the room. I killed time on pinterest much of the afternoon. I took a nap and then took my scholarships over to the financial aid office. When I got back I watched Friends and then did some reading in Ishmael-starting to not like this book). I went and ate supper with my friends. It was so funny because Justin was like rachel you have to ask my permission to leave the table,did I give you permission to run (since it was raining) to the door, etc. Katie and I got to the room before him and locked him out. We were laughing so hard and we let him in finally. He hung out and learned all about the great world of pinterest from us. Then he, Katie and I went to Brad and Cailyn's house for CCH game night. We played chutes and ladders and Katie won. Then Katie taught Stephanie and I how to play Rummikub and I whipped their butts twice :). Katie started not feeling good so I brought her back. It doesn't help that their was peanut butter on a plate she grabbed in the dining hall tonight and she almost could have ate that. We watched Pretty Woman. I read some more Ismael. I was going to get started on a paper that's not for a few weeks just because I had some time but I am going to have to ask the teacher some questions before. I am 4 days ahead on bible reading. Now I am just hanging out before bed. Tomorrow I am going to the K.C. polar plunge and then  going to go see Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close with Chris-my friend who loves in K.C. If anyone has made a better person you have

T-minus 1 hour and 30 minutes to Friday! This morning I got up and went to Ecology. Then went to P.R. afterwards. We walked in and sat down when then the teacher said he had to go and class was cancelled. He took our client justifications and left. The packet that I spent a couple hours on yesterday did not get turned in after all my hard work. It didn't bother me to bad since that class is very stressful. I went over to Panhallenic and got my free t-shirt and bag for filling out my housing agreement. I was in an excellent mood and the weather was gorgeous which made things even better. I came back and ride my bible until lunch.  After lunch, Kaci came over and hung out and we just talked for awhile. We went downstairs and made cupcakes for the birthday party tonight. Justin, Lauren and Katie came and helped too-well Katie did, the others were moral support. After we got batch done, Sean came and hung out with us too. We finished the cupcakes and I came upstairs and talked to mom. We walked to Todd for dinner. When we got back, I vacuumed the floor. I got my package from mom and dad with my camera timer so I can shoot star trails, some tea and lemonade, my boots that I forgot at home and my magazines.Thank you mom!!P.S. the remote works this time! We cleaned up the room some and then Sean, Lauren and I watched Dr. Who. Liz, Russ and Morgan came over for the party. When Kaitlin got there, I made her wait outside with Dalton, Sean M., and Jauan and then we say "surprised". I put it in quotes because it was so hard to keep it a surprise without being able to get them all there.  After celebrating, I skyped with Samantha. Gosh have I missed her! Amy was on so we added her to convo and got to see Sam's gecko. I can't wait till the next time I get to be with them, Ashley,Jac and Beth. After talking for awhile we got off. Now I am going to probably do some reading before bed. O did I forget to mention that Kaci stole my phone and texted some of my friends random messages lol, thanks Kaci! It was a very good day,thank you God! Tonight's blog title comes from Must Have Done Something Right by Relient K. I have had it stuck in my head all day and this line in the song just stands out to me. Well good night!

Say say, say what you mean to say

Wednesday is over which means that only 3 classes separate me and my weekend :). Today has been the best day of the week yet although still weird. I got up and went to Studio. I came back and did a little bit of homework. My stomach was kind of hurting but I went to the gym with Katie like usual on Wednesday morning. We had a great weekend and I was starting to feel better when we got done. We came back and ate lunch in our room. I got to work on more homework. I curled my hair and then went to my small group. We got new members so our group has actually doubled in size since last semester. The book is great and I know God has amazing things in store for us this semester. I came back and did yet again, more homework. I went to supper with my friends. At supper, they had tso's chicken tonight but they only gave us a few pieces of chicken but a lot of rice so we all took turns going up and asking for just more chicken but every time the worker would say he had to serve both together. Poor guy. Lauren and I walked over to CCH for our meeting to plan the formal for the Show Me Christian Youth home. We went to DIG after. Tonight was really amazing because Brad ministered first and then we sang a bunch of songs. Everyone just got really into the worship service. One of the songs we sang which I really like is Say Say (I am testing out hyperlinks tonight-so click the words if you want to hear the song :)). Kaci, Lauren and I walked back and this group of guys across the road were whistling and talking to us-creepy. When I got back, Justin and Russ came over. They helped me with my homework, I pray they helped me right lol. Katie got back and Lauren came in and we just talked for a while. Justin kept saying he was going to leave but then we would get on a new topic. The boys proving how nice they are to me, stole my pillow, threw the pillow case on the ground and undid my blankets. Then they left with the pillow. I got it back though :P. Katie and I ate some ice cream and chatted. Now I am typing this blog before I read some and then go to bed. I also didn't mention yet how we all got our letter today saying we need to come talk with the RHD because we ran down the hallway. I know what you are thinking but its really dumb because it wasn't during quiet hours and it was during the weekend. It is going to be a pointless meeting for her to say don't do that again. It's Tuesday

It's only Tuesday and already, it's been a crazy week-not good or bad, just crazy. This morning I got up and went to Ecology. That teacher has way to much energy at 9:30 in the morning. I went to P.R. after. It seriously takes having a polly anna attitude to make it through that class (for info on polly anna refer to first week of blog). I went and ate lunch with my friends afterwards. I went to Editorial at 2. We critiqued our photos, well we went through and said what we thought the story was so I cringed for nothing. My photo looked way better on screen then I had thought it would look like. Then Mr. Mitchell gave us a photo assignment that we had the rest of class to do. Anna, Dana and I worked as a team since we were allowed to. We were supposed to go downtown, pick a business, get to know how it started and about it, then take a picture of the owner with something iconic in their store. We went to Fitter's first but the owner was not very nice to us so we went to the T-shirt store after and the girls who worked their were so much nice and cooperative. We got our pictures, had them on the server and still got out of class an hour early. I got back and went with Katie and Lauren to Hastings and Wal-Mart. I was not as productive before supper as I probably should have been. I talked to Chris on the phone for a bit to make plans to hang out on Saturday then went to supper with my friends. When we got back, I ran to close the door on Justin and Russ, turned around and Whitney was already in the room. The boys went downstairs and played ping pong while I watched. Then Kaitlin came over and hung out with us. After she left, I read some of Ishmael, then read the first chapter of our book from small group. I found out that I don't have Race,Class and Gender tomorrow so I am going to use the afternoon to get all my P.R. homework and reading done before small group and CCH. I talked to Mom for a bit. Now I am going to do some bible reading before bed. I am still staying ahead of the reading :). Please be praying for some friends of mine tonight for their personal reasons. Good night!

So let's set the world on fire

I don't even know how to begin to describe this Monday to you. It's been really interesting. I was all set to be cheerful on this Monday morning. I got up and went to Intro to Studio. Everyone was like ugh Monday and bumming me out. I went and put my photo assignment on the server but all the ones I liked couldn't be cropped properly so I finally settled on one. I came back to the room with a case of the Monday's trying to sneak up on me. I did some homework. Katie and I went to lunch. When we got back, I did some more homework and then went to Race,Class and Gender. That was a crazy class today. We talked about more then I would of like to have known from other people and it started getting pretty heated. When class was over I went to the Union and got a smoothie since I had time to kill before Forum. I ran into Kaitlin and talked with her for a bit. I went to Forum where the Canon rep spoke to us. He was pretty convincing and made me consider the possibility of going to Canon the next time I update cameras. I went and ate supper with my friends. We had so many people at our table. It was Chinese food night at the dining hall, celebrating the Chinese New Year. My fortune cookie said, "Your financial outlook is excellent." This made me very happy considering last night's blog. Justin and I walked back while Katie went with Whitney. Outside UCC there was an orange and white cat. It was kind of scared but then let me pet and warmed up to me. After petting it for awhile Justin and I were going inside so I held the door shut on him. I told him he could of push the handicap button to open it so he did and I tried to call the cat inside while the door was open. I wanted to keep it in Katie and I's room. I came back upstairs and showed Russ some Office videos inspired by Gentry sending me a link to the real life office people. Katie got back and I was getting ready to read my bible. She jumped on the top bunk and we sat up there eating chips and watching the Lying game. We got to bond some more tonight :). I went over to Kaci's after it was over and played Just Dance with her, Russ, Luke and Emily. It was a lot of fun because Luke had never played before so it was funny to watch. There was a lot of smack talk going on to. Now I am back in my room, probably going to bed soon. I am going to try and make it as positive of a week as possible. Be praying for Mama as she in St. Louis for a conference-just for strength,wisdom and to have a stress free week. Good night my friends!

Laughing is good for you

I can't believe the weekend is over already. Already going into the 3rd week of college with 13 more to go :). I don't like to count away the days but I am seriously ready for the summer warmth. When I was in High School, I was all about the snow days but they don't give those in college. We have to go to class no matter what so I want it warm. This morning we met to go to church. Katie, Russ and I all dressed up today because we felt like it.Sean didn't show so we went to the donut shop like we always do. He still wasn't showing and it was time for us to leave or we would be late. He and Lauren were going to First Baptist so Lauren said we could leave her and she would wait for him there. We made it to church right on time and Sean finally came and got Lauren. They sang great songs at church today and the minster spoke about tithing and money which to me was a lesson I really needed to hear since I stress about the kind of thing a lot. After church we went to Ellis and ate. Sean tried calling all of us but we would answer and then hang out. Most people may know this but I don't have a lot of patience. I wish I did and I am working on them. God is trying to help with that too. A long time ago at a SOMO coaches meeting, the Wright boys gave everyone a bag of m &ms and each color meant something. Blue meant patience. My bag didn't have any blue go figure and I never forget that. So needless to say if you make me wait 45 minutes, I am not very happy. After lunch, I did some reading of Ismael for Ecology and did some bible reading. I took almost a 2 hour nap and then watched t.v. Abc family had a marathon of cinderella story movies on today. They get really old really quick when its the same thing movie after movie. We went and supper. On the way back I hid by the staircase and jumped out at Katie when she went by. She screamed really loud and then we laughed for like the next ten minutes. I painted my nails. Our floor was having movie night and the new CA ordered pizza so we went out to the lobby and enjoyed that for a little bit. Kaci came over and she,Lauren,Katie,Russ and I watched the proposal. So good! We were laughing really hard because we were trying to hack each other's facebook and again the stuffed animals were being thrown. Well here's to a stress free quick week :) Good night!

The smell of crayons

This morning, I woke up kind of wide awake because I was worried that I was going to call and they wouldn't have the rim I needed and it would be hard to find one even though I knew the whole time that God was taking care of it. I called them and they had it. Katie and I got up and went to CCH for their pancake breakfast. Lauren, Sean, Russ and Justin came after awhile. After the delicious breakfast we went back to UCC. We got dressed because we were in our pjs for the breakfast, then Sean drove Russ,Katie and I to the Salvage yard. I got the rim. We played with the cats there while we waited for them to get the rim. On the way back we jammed out and rowed pass a few cars which was funny. We went to Walmart and they switched the rims and aired up the donut and the original tire, then put the tire back on. We shopped around walmart then hung out in the waiting area until it was done. My car was finally fixed! We came back her and talked to my mom and dad. I skyped with Ashley for awhile and we watched several videos on how to do different braids. When I got off with her, I did some homework. Katie and I went to Todd to eat with the others. On the way back, Lauren, Justin, Morgan and Nora rode back with us. Nora decided that she and Morgan were going to marriage counseling over their pet. Poor Justin was in a car full of a bunch of girls talking nonstop. Katie and I made our crayon art pictures. They turned out so cool. They were a little messy and fun experimenting with. Every person who walked down the hallway came in our room and said the hallway smelled like crayons, then we would be like we know.After we got done, we watched Moneyball. It was good, a tad dry but still interesting. Sean, Lauren and Morgan are hanging out with us now. It was a really great Saturday! My friends made this day so much better. Now I am going to finish up some things before bed. Good night!

It alll started with Taco Bell

Happy Friday even though happy probably isn't the word I would describe it now. God likes to give us tests sometimes and he doesn't give  us anything we can't handle just sometimes I wonder.  I think he gives them to us so that we know we need his help. I used to have a hard time letting it go and now I am starting to just say God I know I can't do this without your help. This will all come into play later in the blog. So last night Sean, Lauren and I did get distracted  but we actually stopped our story time because I made them stop because we had a long ways to go and I could not focus lol. I also forgot Brett's quote of the night which was he said he was driving past my house which was awful and I said my house rocks. He said "your garage does because it always has mountain dew." This morning I got up and went to Studio.When I got back, I watched Jane by Design and then Katie and went to the gym. On the way back I serenaded her by singing without you. It was great if I do say so myself.After lunch we came back and did some homework. I took a quiz, wasted time on pinterest and then took a nap. It was a wonderful nap. I did some bible reading when I got up and then went to walmart with Russ, Katie, Justin, Lauren and Lauren. Katie dropped us off because she had a sorority thing. We already missed dinner and so had everyone apparently because Sean, Morgan and Liz went with us all to taco bell. I drove in one car and Sean drove another. When I was pulling into taco bell I ran over something which Liz thought was glass and I had no idea. When I got out my hub cap was bent some and I had flat tire. This is where my early message comes in because I do not adapt well to situations like this and especially without my mechanical father or even the comfort of my mother. So I started freaking out some and called my dad. He told me what to do to get to the tire changed. Unfortunately none of us really knew what we were doing. A man whoever came over and saw we needed help and changed it for me. There are still good people out there! The tire didn't last long though before we got down the road and it was flat. We pulled into Jiffylube and the couldn't help. Sean came after dropping some of the others off. Russ called Triple A since Walmart was the only place that could fix it and we weren't making it there. They got their and loaded my car. We went to Walmart and after talking with the guy found out that we would have to get a new rim. So they couldn't do anything with it tonight. I have to call the salvage yard in the morning and pray they have what I need. I would have had huge melt downs tonight if it wasn't for Sean,Russ,Lauren and Liz being right there with me. Morgan, Lauren and Justin were very helpful as well. It could have been so much more worse then it was and I know God is going to help it get fixed tomorrow. I have completely given him this problem because I can't handle it and I know that he can. When we got back to the dorm. I called my parents and told them and I am extremely grateful for them being able to keep me calm over the phone no matter how far away. We went to Justin's room and watched Baby's day out.It is so cute and it made me miss Casen. I just wanted him to be there so I could give him a hug. As soon as I get home again I will make sure I get to see him. Amy texted me to see how things were. Now Katie, Sean and I are watching Friends. Katie didn't get to move today but maybe sometime next week. Thank you God for blessing me in every way possible today. Well good night!

Productive Thursday

One more day till Friday! This morning I got up and went to Ecology. That is like the worst 10 minutes ever walking there because the win is in our face and it makes me eyes water. ecology also made me really tired. By the time P.R. I was drained. I went and lunch with my friends then I made some of them be my photo subjects. I came back to my room and started laundry. I vacuumed the floor. I went and helped Lauren B. carry stuff her stuff out of Ellis since she was moving to Hosey. I came back and finished my laundry then did some dishes. I actually had a little time to relax then I decided to start working on some homework so that I wouldn't  have to work on that much this weekend. I messed around with slow shutter photography some. When Katie got back we went to supper with the others. I went and ate pizza with Lauren and her friends. Russ and I went and hung out with Whitney, Kaci and her friends when we got back. We ate more pizza and watched American Idol. Everyone's opinion of American Idol was interesting.When it was over we came back to to UCC. We went to talk to Justin and ended up sitting in the 4th floor lobby talking to him for awhile. Kaci came over and joined us. Russ definitely got his revenge on me for pulling my pink chair from under him in my room the other day. When I was sitting on the couch, he pulled the cushion out from behind me so I smacked my back against the wood. Kaci and I came upstairs and had girl talk with Katie for a bit until Kaci had to leave. I got tomorrow's bible reading done. Sean and Lauren came in and we had story time, reading Ishmael for Ecology for a little bit until we got distracted. Now I am going to kick them out soon so I can go to bed. Well good night!

It's Wednesday! You know what that means? Only 3 classes separate me from the weekend. This morning as I was getting ready for class I started watching part 2 of Extreme Makeover Home Edition: Joplin. I finished it when I got back from Intro to Studio. I cried today, I couldn't hold it in any longer. It was so good. I hope that those people pay it forward to others who need help. Katie and I went to the gym at 11. We are getting stronger and better. When we got back, it was after lunch already so we made ourselves lunch in the room. I went to Race, Class and Gender then went to the first small group of the semester. We played games today like this one, I don't remember the name but its like telephone on paper. You write a sentence then pass it and that person draws a picture of your sentence. Then the next person can only see their picture and has to make a sentence from it. It's so fun. Then we played Apples to Apples and I was victorious. I came back and talked to her for awhile. I miss her bunches! Then I read until supper. We went to Ellis and ate. I saw my C.A. on the way out and asked about key. She had forgot so its a good thing I said something or I would still be waiting on a key for another week which whos to say it still won't be because she has to turn it in now and I have to wait for the people to come change the locks. After supper, Sean, Russ and I went to CCH for a meeting. We are helping plan the Show Christian Youth Home formal for them. I and another girl are in charge of the photo booth. I talked to Ashley for a few minutes and then went to DIG. We sang this song Beautiful things which I really like the lyrics. Kaci, Russ and I went to Casey's afterwards. Kaci and I both got fudge brownie hot cocoa which is so good! It's like drinking a liquid brownie. UCM beat Truman in basketball tonight :). We were going to watch a movie when we got back and everyone came in here and waiting for a while but Sean never came back so everyone left and we decided no movie tonight. Brett gave me a quote for tonight, "I ain't nothing but white trash." He was not referencing that towards me he was just stating that for the blog. It kind of reminds me of Jauan and Harris because they like to joke with me some days and they asked me if I had a white girl problem (they are both black) so last night Morgan and I were asking Jauan what a white girl problem was. I finished my reading for P.R. and did tomorrow's bible reading so I can stay ahead for as long as possible.  The next few days are going to be full of moving. Well good night friends!

Scrape

Even though Tuesday's are my least favorite days of classes, today was a really good day. It was extremely cold walking to class and both my morning classes were boring but that didn't bother me. I went and ate lunch with my friends. I came back and took an hour and a half that was amazing! Mr. Mitchell had a meeting so class started an hour later. Our 2 hr and 45 min class ended up only lasting an 1 hr and a half. :D I love Editorial so far. When I got back to the room I did tomorrow's bible reading and watched FRIENDS. I watched part 1 of the Joplin Extreme Makeover Home Edition. It was hard not to cry. I hope to watch the 2nd part tomorrow. I can't believe it's been five months already since the Tornado. It's weird watching it because I can almost relate since I know where Joplin is and several Special Olympics athletes lost their lives in the incident. SOMO Southwest area office was even destroyed so it's really hard not to cry through the whole thing but just to think of how far the people have come since then is awesome. We went and ate supper. I drove tonight and ended up having to parallel pair since there were no spots left in the parking lot. Needless to say  I am not good at it. I didn't hit any cars but it was not as close to the curb as I should have been probably. Russ, Morgan, Jauan and I watched Glee after. It was a very good episode. Kaci and Whitney came over and the boys left so we had a really good talk. I love those girls so much! I skyped with my one of bestest friends Amy. Miss her so much! I recruited another volunteer for SOMO over skype. Thanks to Amy, her friend wanted to do so now I am going to try and get her involved. I talked to my momma some. Sean and Lauren came and hung out in our room for a bit.  I was going to now go home again until the first week in February but I have missed my parents a lot this week. I would go home with Kaci if I wasn't moving Kaitlin and Katie over the weekend. I believe what someone said at Dig when they said God has good things planned for us this semester. I don't say this enough but I am thankful for my friends here at school,from back home, my SOMO family and my regular family. Love you all! I had a dream

Happy Martin Luther King Jr day! A great man who helped move this country a long way. Katie and I were very spoiled this morning by being served breakfast in bed by Russ and Justin. They made us eggs and also brought us muffins and apple juice. It was extremely sweet. Liz and Russ hung out in our room for a bit and then we went downstairs so Katie and Russ could play fuseball. Justin came down and played too. I got my textbook from the front desk and talked to my mom. We went and ate lunch with the others at noon. 15 people around 1 table-you get to love your friends. We got ready after and then loaded up and went to the park. It was a gorgeous day! 70 and sunny :) Katie and Sean M. went to hunt a ball to play wiffleball with. We did some cheerleading stunts which was interesting with Russ and Justin who had never based before. We went on the merry go round and swings. We walked through the trees and by the water. Katie and Sean got back so they hit the ball for awhile then some of the others joined them. After a while we decided to leave. When we got back, Katilin, Russ and I played air hockey. Some of the others came up stairs and watched t.v. for a bit then I made them be my models for my photo assignment. I came back up and did my reading for P.R. When we got back from supper, I did my bible reading and then some of tomorrow's. Kaci, Russ, Katie and I watched the Bucket List which is very good. It makes me want to get out and see the world. If you can dream, you can do it and I believe that statement. We all gave each other a hard time today and had a really great day. I hope the rest of the week goes this well. It is starting to get colder and its raining now. I do not understand this January weather at all. Well I am going to finish getting ready for bed. Good night!

Boomshackalacka

Last night the girls and I didn't end up partying lol we just hung out in Jennah and I's room until almost 1 talking. This morning we got up, had breakfast and then had our last session. My group which I think I said in yesterday's blog which was recruiting and retaining volunteers. We came in saying boomshackalacka and clapping. It was interesting hearing all the group sand where SOMO is going to be in the next 40 years. The possibilities are endless. We said our goodbyes when it was over(always the worst part). Kim is on SMAC so we waited while she had her meeting. Glenn is so identical to my dad, it almost scares me. He loves everything my dad does including Ice Road Truckers which we watched. Justin stole my name tag so we hunted him down. He succeeded up until they were leaving and then when I was hugging him goodbye I got it.Victorious!  Kim's meeting got over and we loaded everything up and left. We went to Steak and Shake which was very good. The Niemeyers walked in there not long after us. We got back to Preston and dropped the others off. As much as I would loved to hung out with the Childress's another night, I came back to hang out with my friends. I made it back to the burg about 6. I ate supper and then we came back here. We made muffins. Baking with my group is very different. If we don't have measuring cups we estimate which doesn't always work in our favor. Today though I did have some for us to use. Justin and I were the egg crackers and we were awesome at it if I might add.I don't like Lemon Poppy seed muffins but they weren't too bad. Then Katie,Nora,Kaci, Joseph, Russ, Justin and I watched Fired Up. Now Katie and I are getting ready for bed. Things are crazy tonight. I never thought I would say this but I miss our CA's. We only have 1 so far this semester and things are usually pretty mellow but tonight people are running and being loud. I am sad to report I don't have today's or yesterday's bible reading done but I hope to catch up probably tomorrow. I have to do some reading tomorrow so I don't start out the week behind. SOMO Leadership

Greetings from the Chateau on the lake! This morning we left the Childress's and got on our way towards Branson. We stopped at Grand Country real quick on the strip. Holden, Amanda and I sat in the love chair to see what our meter was, it was pretty funny. We finally made it here and caught up with old friends. We got checked into our rooms and then went to the main room for lunch. I thought my roommates were going to be Jennah and Jessica but Jessica moved to Indiana's room since she didn't have a roommate. Beth Brocamp was inducted in to the Hall of Fame. She was so happy and crying which made the entire crowd start tearing up. Definitely a well deserved recipient. Please be praying for Megan Rigdon and Zach Anderson as they were in a car accident this morning. Both are home and doing well. After lunch we listened to a comedian then broke out into our mini sessions. I went to the how to recruit volunteers and keep them. It was very helpful. We ate cupcakes in honor of SOMO's 40th birthday. We had free time so we got ready for the 70's party. I must say Indiana, Jennah and Jessica and I looked awesome. Pictures to come tomorrow. We went down for supper. The boys stole our spots so we went and sat with the Lutz's. After supper we played Jeopardy. It was a little difficult if you didn't know your 70's trivia very well. I had a lot of the staff people on my team and we didn't do to bad. After that was over we danced. We had a blast. Then the girls and I went all around the hotel and took a bunch of pictures. I am typing this before we have our own little party. Robb gave me a Christmas present today and it was really sweet. Thanks again Robb! I didn't get my bible reading done sadly. It's finally Friday!

This has been a very long week its seemed like. Friday couldn't have gotten her faster but before I know it the semester will be over again. This morning I got up and went to Studio. That class is finally starting to get better and I think Imight actually enjoy it. I came back and took my quiz for that class then did today's bible reading. At 11 Katie and I went and worked out. We were pretty sore from last time but were feeling pretty good after today's workout. We ate lunch in our room since we didn't get back from the gym until noon. We watched the old Footloose. Personally, I like the new one better. I am not a Kevin Bacon fan and I thought the new one just explained things better. I got my stuff rounded together and headed for Skyline. So the other day I broke my Spotlight cup by putting a crack in it. Today  I dropped it on outside leaving and broke it for good I think. I made it to Skyline to meet the Childress's about 3:30. I got to see their school and then we watched the basketball games because there was a tournament going on. We watched the first game which wasn't a good game then went and ate then came out and watched the last game which Skyline was playing for 1st place. Since I don't go to the school and my school doesn't play them I cheered for them. Their student section was just like ours my junior  year. Skyline won with a big lead in the end. Tomorrow we are headed to Branson in the morning. Well good night!

I am blessed

It's only 23 minutes until Friday! Warrensburg got their first real visit from Jack Frost last night and it was a little icy and quite snowy out this morning. I went to Ecology with the Laurens and Sean. I ran to the bookstore in between classes because I thought I had enough time. The lady at the cash register was taking forever and I was running very short on time. I sprinted to Wood and made it to Writing and Editing 2 minutes late. Thank goodness we didn't have a quiz today or he wouldn't have let me take it. I am so nervous about that class but I am trying to keep an open mind about it.  That class actually seemed to go by faster then Ecology did. I went to lunch after class. Then I had the whole afternoon to myself. Of course I didn't get my book until around 4 so I couldn't get my homework done. I wasted some time on pinterest then played Zumba on the wii for awhile. I am very sore today from working out yesterday and I have a nice blue bruise on my leg from falling into the locker while doing a scorpion. When I finally got my book, I did my reading. Kaitlin came over and hung out for a bit. Mom called and informed me that adult Russell Lasley had passed away in a car wreck today. We went and ate supper at Todd. We went to the bookstore afterwards. Then came back and watched Ms. Congeniality. Kaci came over and watched it with us. Then Sean, Katie, Lauren, Russ and I watched Gnomeo and Juliet. We watched in talking with British accents I might add. I did today's bible reading. I see a lot of people are posting about Russell Lasley and I never knew him. It makes me think of how blessed I am though. I have 2 parents who love me, a sister,brother, a sister in law, 2 nephews and 1 niece, friends and family-all who are always there if I need them. No matter how bad I think my day may be sometimes its really not. God's there making sure of it. I fell kind of bad because this Christmas I was acting selfish which isn't me and I hated feeling that way and because of it, I caused myself and others to not get the most of the day. Sometimes I wonder how much I should exactly put on this blog but then I think about it and I want to know when I go back and read it in the future that thats exactly how I felt. That is what I thought my Freshman year of college. Even those who seem perfect sometime have faults and I know that I am for sure not perfect. No matter how I felt this Christmas, I was 100% truly blessed. I had food, warmth and love. Somethings that a lot of people in this world would kill to have. So from now on when I am feeling down on myself, I just need to remind myself of that. Changing subject a few months ago in church we wrote down 5 things we really want. One of mine was to not have a hard time with school-that I would have an easy semester I guess and that did come true. Two weeks ago at church we wrote five new things. Well this time I decided that I thought something else was more important then having a easy semester and you know what I can tell the difference. Classes do seem harder and I am worrying for no reason of course. I know that I choose to put something else but I just know I made the right decision. Even though I wrote something else, I know God is going to take care of both. He knows the desires of our heart and answers them. I read that tonight in Psalms 37. Well here's to an amazing Friday tomorrow! Please pray for one of my friends' stepmothers, pray for the Lasley family, for Julie Brickey's baby who is home today yay! and for anyone else who needs it. Good night!

If you can believe it, you can achieve it

It's Wednesday which means its almost Friday! This morning I got up and went to Studio which I definitely felt a little better about then I did Monday and I after talking with Kelsey tonight, I feel more relaxed. She told thought the same things about the class at first but it wasn't so bad after awhile. I came back to the room and did my bible reading. Katie and I went to the gym when she got back from class. We are working towards our beach bods. They got all new treadmills at the gym and they are awesome. They have fans in them so it gives a nice breeze while you are running. We lifted some and then did a bunch of ab stuff. We came back to the room to clean up and not be stinky then went back to the rec and met the others for a free nacho bar for lunch. Kaitlin, Sean and Lauren M. ate with us. We got free t-shirts and then came back to the dorm. I spent more then enough time on pinterest before going to my class of the day- Race, Class and Gender. That is actually interesting. I was going to take a nap when I got back but just ended up watching Friends until I left to go to the basketball game with Russ, Sean, Nora and Morgan. UCM was playing Northwest. We were only there for the girls game and after coming back from being down by 11 almost the whole first half, won the game by 2. The boys ended up winning by 3 and Mizzou won tonight too so it was a good night for basketball. We went to CCH after where they were having food and sharing stories tonight. Hearing everyone's testimonies of what God has done in their lives over break was incredible. I feel like I should of shared maybe about my keys but I didn't know exactly what to say so I didn't. I guess I would have said I got so aggravated not finding my keys and didn't want to have to pay for new ones but God made the way for the money to pay for new ones and he is taking care of my financial stress to by making the way. Wednesday has been way better then Monday and Tuesday but I would be lying if I said I wasn't in a funk this week. I keep thinking about like a million things not bad but I just don't know what to think about it. I don't want to wish college away and I don't want to always be thinking about what's going to happen next. I want to enjoy life and live it the way God wants me too. Two things I have learned recently are 1) I need to develop patience and 2) I need to allow for God's help and not try to handle everything on my own. I am so excited for Saturday though so I can be with my SOMO family!So it is currently snowing in the burg. I have been able to wear shorts, capris, and my winter coat all in the same day because it was 60 and is now 24 degrees. Crazy Missouri weather! Well good night!

and it's only Tuesday

Happy Tuesday everyone although I get the feeling that it's not been to happy for a lot of people. Thank you full moon. This morning I got up and walked over with Lauren to Ecology. It doesn't sound like its going to be to awful. I went to Writing and Editing for P.R. next. I am going to have to have God's help with this one. at first I didn't think it would be to bad but he soon freaked us out with his grading scale and assignment list. He informed us that it's almost impossible to get an A in his class unless you work twice as hard and if you make a mistake in your press releases you automatically get a C or lower. Well it's a good thing I know someone who can do the impossible and he's going to help me get an A in the class. It's also a good thing that I have connections to SOMO's P.R. person too. After class I went and ate lunch with my friends. I got to eat lunch with Kaci today. At lunch, Sean informed that he saw me in Ecology this morning. I was like why didn't you come sit by Lauren and I then. He said he would next time. After lunch, I ordered books then went to Editorial photography at 2. That is the one class I could feel calm in. I know the other photography majors and Mr. Mitchell is a cool teacher. We watched a part of a movie and got started on our group assignment. I am in a group with Carlos, Dana and Taz who are all really fun so I think our project will be good. I came back to the room and talked to Mom for a bit then walked t.v. and did my bible reading until supper. We walked to Todd. Then everyone came over here when we got back and we watched Abc family and just hung out. I did my reading for Race, Class and Gender tomorrow. Now I am getting ready for bed as soon as I read the last chapter of my reading. Good night! Here's to a non stressful Wednesday for everyone!

Spring Semester begins

Today was the first day of classes. I started my Monday off with my 9am Intro to Studio class. It's very intimidating because there is so much equipment and I am more of the outdoors photographer. Mr. Ownby is a little bit more strict then Mr. Mitchell so I am worried about his grading. I have 4 hours in between my first class and second class on Mondays now which I don't like. I would rather get them all done in the morning. I came back and did my bible reading. Then Katie and I went to eat lunch. Unfortunately because of Kaci and I's schedules now, we didn't get to eat lunch together today. Maybe I can eat earlier next week so that I can eat with her. I went to Race, Class, and Gender at 2. Molly had said at lunch she had a class at 2 so I had wondered if it was the same class and it was. So I was definitely glad to know someone in there. That was the class I was most worried about and I don't think I am going to mind it. I went and got 2 books I needed from the bookstore afterwards. I called around and looked for my keys. Then I went to my last class of the day at 4 in the Ward Edwards building. Sean's friend Victoria was in there so I knew someone in that class too. Well I knew a lot of people actually because Forum has every photography major that is taking a forum class all at the same time.  That is the class when I started freaking out a little bit because hearing about all the expenses to come before I graduate, resumes, photo contests. Hearing it all at once was a little overwhelming. I went back to the room and called my mom. Thank goodness for moms is all I got to say because they just listen to us ramble on and let us know that it's going to be ok. I really stressed for nothing because I know God is going to take care of it all and make the way. Mom had Casen so I got on skype so I could talk to him to. He wasn't very talkative at the beginning but towards the end he started talking more and said bye bye to me. So unfortunately I found no keys so I am going to have to pay for a new one and I feel so bad because they cost a lot but I'm so glad that God made a way for the money to pay for them too. He is always taking care of me. We went to supper at 6 and then everyone came to my room and we hung out. Sean, Lauren and Nora were throwing candy and the stuffed animals at each other so they got banned from the candy. I shouldn't say just them because everyone really was. We went to late night after where it was funnel cake sundae night. The ice cream was good but the funnel cakes were not. We went to Wal- Mart afterwards and had a party there jk but a lot of us did go. I bought some groceries but I couldn't decide if I needed more or not. I really wish I would of brought some things from that I took home before break like my hot chocolate. When we got back Katie and I had a good little roomie chat. Now we are both headed to bed soon. We are being pretty good kids right now getting to sleep earlier. I am sure it won't last long. Well I am off to bed, good night!

Squioose

My last day at home :(. I got up and got ready for church. I held Tinnley for a lot of church. She was so cute as always and extremely fascinated with my nail polish. She would look at the other side of my fingers then flip them over and look at my nails then back and forth. When I got home I finished packing my stuff. I gave Lacy her disk of pictures. When I got home, Mom had lunch ready. I did my bible reading then spent the last hour I had with my parents. I was definitely sad to leave home because it's been so nice and I am going to miss everyone but I have missed my friends here. I am not excited to start classes in the morning. I stopped in Lancaster to see Sherry for a little bit then was on my way back to the burg. I made it back and unloaded everything. I found a closer parking spot when Russ came out to help me so I made him stand there until I moved my car.  I can't believe how many people where here already at 5:30. Usually when you get here at that time, you can get a close spot but not today. Mike came to get his stuff so we chatted with him and his mom for a little bit before saying goodbye. Then we went and ate supper at traditional 6 well it was after that when we got there but around that time. When we were coming back I went to get my printer out of my car. There was a spot open in the front row so I had Russ save it again while I got my car lol. Katie had a meeting and I hung in my room. Russ and Sean came over and we just hung out. Then Nora and Morgan came and soon Lauren. We were laughing so hard and had so much to talk about it. A month is way to long to be away from them. Sean took Katie's moose and squished the squirrels head back to put the moose's head on its body to create Squioose. Katie got back and we ate random candy that we brought back with us. After a while of talking, the others left. Now Katie and I are trying to start off our week good but not staying up very late. Well good night!

Here's your wake up call

Last night I stayed the night at Jac's. Even though we didn't go to bed until late we still managed to wake up around 9. Those how woke up first hit the others with pillows to get them up and then we enjoyed the usual chocolate chip pancakes while making fun of the people on Moving Up. Amos and I left after breakfast. When I got home, the boys got back with the trucks so I went and helped them unload the wood. Mom was over to Memphis watching Zack compete in a campus bowl tournament. I was going to go over if they made it to the afternoon but by the time they announced it, they were starting the games directly after so I didn't have time to make it over. Zack got several questions each game and they won 3 out of 5 of their games so even though I couldn't be there to support him, I was very proud.  This afternoon I started packing my bags then spent some not needed time on pinterest. At 4 I had Lacy's maternity session. It went really well and it wasn't very long. When I got home Grandpa took Mom, Dad and I out to eat at Pizza Hut. I got my chocolate dunkers. I talked to my dad about Florida and seemed pretty ok with it so I am so excited to go. When we got home, Mom and I put the Christmas tree up. Mom made fun of me for packing my suitcase extremely full. I edited Lacy's pictures and watched some more Glee. I did today's bible reading.I don't know about going back tomorrow. I miss my friends but being home is so nice. I am sure when I get there, I'll be glad to be back. Well good night!

Girls night

This morning mom stayed home from school because she was sick. I got up and didn't do much besides watch boy meets world.After lunch, I scrapbooked since I was behind.I watched more glee. Then I went outside and put up the jugs and the lights.All our Christmas decor is down except the tree which will probably go down tomorrow. I came back in and scrapbooked some more then got ready for the game. I picked Amy and Jac. The girls and boys won. The boys by a lot. Kwolf and Kensington came and sat by us. The little rams cheer camp performed. We went to Jac's afterwards for a sleepover. We ate pizza and brownies and I gave them their presents.Ashley got there and we played broadway dances for the wii. We watched a bunch of random youtube videos and then Liz got there. After chatting some we put in Beastly which is very good because I have seen it before. Sam was supposed to be here but we haven't heard from here.She said earlier in the week she could but nothing today.I hope she is ok since she didn't respond to any of our calls or texts. Well until tomorrow.O I did catch up on my bible reading. I can't believe tomorrow is my last day of break.I don't even know where it went.

Deep Thoughts

I wasn't real productive today, I don't feel like. After getting up, I went to school so I could get Wes a copy of my schedule to get my scholarship money and I visited some people there.I went and talked to Mr. Worth and was talking to him about going to Florida so he had to go with me to Mom's office and ask her about it lol.After my visit I headed for home. Mom wanted me to stop at Grandpa's and see how he was doing. His face does not look good that's for sure but he said he was doing better. The town cop followed me all the way home and kept going driving when I turned but he road my bumper the whole way. I saw him in 2 different spots while I was in town and then for some reason he was going to Downing.When I got home about 2, I made myself some lunch and watched Friends. My SOMO calendar got here today. I made a calendar on walmart.com with a bunch of my somo photos from this last year and I love it. Mom came home early for her because she wasn't feeling well. I may have spent too much of my time on pinterest. I watched some season 1 of glee and did yesterday's bible reading. Randy came over and we went to Memphis to go bowling but when we got there it was league night so we couldn't bowl but I'm pretty sure we could of got a game in before they started. So we came home and played wii instead. We played wii sports and then I made him play Just Dance. We had a really good conversation tonight just about everything. So last night I had a dream about my friend Chet which I am sure most of you know who that is. Well a while back I got a really frustrating message from him and he hasn't talked to me since. In my dream we were hanging out just like we used to at SOMO events. It really kind of bothered me today because it made me miss him. This is where tonight's blog title comes in because I was thinking a lot today. I don't understand how a girl or a guy can control the other in a relationship so much they get mad if you talk your friends. Well I haven't been there so I can't say but I just hope I would never do that.I am hopefully going to finish my bible reading for today after I finish blogging. I have a full day of scrapbooking, taking Christmas decor down and then girls night tomorrow!Good night!

Para Para Paradise

I'm home again. We left this morning around 9 because Katie had to a dentist appointment so we left when she did. We stopped twice and then came home. I got home about 12:45. On our first stop we went to Sonic and instead of getting my usual I decided to try a raspberry watermelon slush and it was great! We saw 6 cops between Katie's house and here so it's a miracle we didn't see any on the way there. I was being a law abiding citizen so I didn't get pulled over. When we got home I went to sleep because I was tired from the trip and I didn't feel very well. Scout is a very good nap partner so she was more then happy to take one with me. I watched some Friends then did my nails. Mom and Dad got home and I told them about my trip. Mom made enchiladas for supper which is one of my favorite things she makes. She got home later then usual because she had to check on Grandpa because apparently he got in the face with a board. Some how he fell or something but he and the board collided and now according to Mom it looks like he got punch in the eye so please keep him in your prayers. After supper Dad and I split wood. Then I took Cindy back her punch bowl that she left me borrow. When I got back, Dad and I carried trash and burned it. For some reason tonight it decided to take off a little so we had to keep our eyes on it but Dad got it out before it went anywhere. Dad told me I wouldn't get the cows to let me touch them but I got the black one to come a little close. Phineas and Ferb are almost growing on me for names but I am still not sure. Now I am trying to catch up on my bible reading. I don't want to be 3 days behind again tomorrow. I can't believe it's going to be 60 degrees tomorrow. It's usually 10-20 degrees at this time. So to explain tonight's blog, I had a great time in St. Louis but decided their is no place like home. the blog title is a song by Coldplay that I like right now. Every place can seem like paradise for awhile but eventually we get tired of it. I am sure Florida will seem like that when we get there but after a while we will be ready for home. There is one place that will always be paradise though and that is heaven when we get there :). So there is this show called Mobbed on Fox and they perform flash mobs while something epic happens. Tonight a guy asked a girl out. I would totally loved to be purposed to with a flash mob. Well I guess I should finish reading and go to bed. Good night!

Taste like St. Louis

This morning Russ picked us all up and we headed to St. Louis for the day. We went to the arch first. I had been there before but the last time I was there was a long time ago with my aunt and cousins and we didn't get to go up in the arch because it was so busy and we didn't have enough time. Today however there were not very many people there so we got tickets and went to the top of the arch. They don't lie when they say the trams are small but they didn't bother me. The view from the top was amazing. You could all of downtown St. Louis in farther. Russ and Mike being the optimistic people they are kept telling us how something was going to break down in the arch or something through out the day was going to kill us. We drove to Union Station after we left the arch. There are a bunch of shops there and we ate at Sbarro there. When we were leaving Kaitlin, Russ and I went upstairs and sat in chairs in the lobby while we waited on Mike and Katie.  In the seats next to us were the coaches of the Harlem Globetrotters. We thought it would be weird to take a picture so I took pictures of the gorgeous room and casually got them in one hehe. We got up and left and a bus came to the front door and unloaded the whole team of the Harlem Globetrotters. we thought about asking for a picture but we didn't. They were staying at the hotel at Union Station. The doorway is an act and if you whisper in one side you can hear it in the other side. It is really cool. We drove to the Zoo after. It was kind of cold but it was nice because there were hardly any people there. Whenever we went to go to the monkeys, Mike tried to get us to go somewhere else because he doesn't like them. He took us to the primate house when he thought we were going to the reptile house and wasn't happy to see more monkeys. I loved the big cats and penguins like usual. There were several animals that weren't out. Kaitlin and I kept pestering Mike to go to the butterfly house,he would just tell us that it was just insects but we knew there were some butterflies there and we just wanted to see them. From the zoo, we went to the loop. It's kind of like a combination of the landing in Branson and the strip in Lake of the Ozarks because it has miscellaneous stores but it has a bunch of eating places too. We toured some of the shops and then ate at Fitz's - Mike's recommendation. I had strawberry soda that was made there, they make it in the restaurant and you can watch. I also had a bbq chicken burger. I ate one of Mike's chicken wings but they were way spicier then he said. We went to Ben and Jerry's then went to West County Mall. We met Kirstin there and got to hang out with her for awhile. Before she got there, we went to Dick's Sporting Goods. Kaitlin, Russ and I went up and down the escalators a few times and I sang loud, "I'm singing, Im in a store and Im singing, Im in a store and Im SINGING"- from Elf. When Kirstin went there went in some stores. We went to this one store and Katie, Kaitlin, Kirstin and I looked at all the beautiful dresses. I didn't miss the price of dresses but I do miss buying them for snowball and prom. The boys weren't too happy with the girly stores. We came back to Katie's after dropping Mike off and Russ dropping us off. Lauren B. came over and now we are watching Crazy, Stupid, Love. I won't catch up on bible reading until tomorrow. To explain tonight's blog title our St. Louis friends had certain requirements of what we had to eat and drink while we were here. The last thing was we had to try St. Louis water. Hardly better then Lancaster water well when Rathbun wasn't having trouble. Well good night!

Address changed to Kirksville

Im currently blogging from Katie's house near St. Louis. After getting up, doing yesterday's bible reading which I will be 3 days behind when I get home Wednesday but I will catch up, watching Boy Meets World,then getting my stuff together, we finally headed out to St. Louis. We went to Wayland and down 61. I would be lying if I said it wasn't interesting following Katie once we got on 61. She likes to go faster then I like to go because I would not like to get a speeding ticket. We stopped at a gas station quick halfway and then were back on the road. We went straight to Russ's house. Katie and Russ played football and then we ate lupper. We had lasagna and chocolate cake-2 things I love. We had a great time chatting with Russ's family. After staying for a little bit we headed for Chesterfield. I had my first St. Louis driving scare. It wasn't bad but it just scared me a little bit because I am not used to city driving. WE were heading to the mall and Katie pulled in to the other lane andI didn't have to get in quick enough before the turn off ended. If I would of went over, I would of cut off a car and couldn't do that so we just went to the turn and turned into another entrance of the mall. Mike's mom came and got him and then Katie, Kaitlin and I shopped in a real mall according to Katie. I kept myself from buying anything at Aeropostle even though there were some great sales. I only bought a knit hat at Forever 21 that was pretty cheap. We came back to Katie's and watched some tv. Then we went for FroYo. It's not my first time having it but I don't see how you can eat ice cream after frozen yogurt. Now we are watching One Day. To explain my blog title for tonight, Mike, Russ and Katie all say they are from St. Louis but technically none of their addresses are St. Louis and it takes them about as long to get to St. Louis as it does for us to get to Kirksville. So I told them if they said they were from St. Louis then I was from Kirksville which means half the counties around Schuyler would say they are from Kirksville too. Then we were talking about going to St. Louis tomorrow, they were like when we go to St. Louis which just proves my point that they don't live there. Well Kaitlin and I will get to see the wonderful St. Louis tomorrow. I have been thinking about New Year's Resolutions lately-how everyone's making them and half the people don't keep theres. Most of the country made theirs to lose weight this year. I am not saying that's a bad goal, I am just saying most people don't stick with it. I guess I want mine to be finish reading 182 days of the bible on time, attempt to get a spread the word day started on campus and not be so controlling with my schedules. I definitely need to practice patience this year. It's been said that if you write down your goals, you are more like to achieve them. Well here they are so we will now in 364 days if they happen. Is a camel a Northville animal?

This morning we got up and got ready for church. The wind was blowing about 40 mph with gusts up to 60 so we didn't get to do Lacy's maternity session but are going to do it later in the week. We watched Robots and Dad cooked pork steak for everyone. We brought Tennley home from church and she talked up a storm while we watched the movie. We got ready and went to town to pick up Kaitlin to go to the movies. Katie was pretty amazed when we passed the Shaw's and saw their camels and elf. When we drove by the school, we toured the outside so they could see it. We went to the movies and waited for Kaci, Brett and Marty to get there. Marty was extremely kind and paid for our movie tickets. Thanks again! We got our snacks and found our seats. The movie was just as good the second time as it was the first time. Even the boys who thought it was going to be dumb liked it. When it was over, we said goodbye to the Tades. We ran to Walmart quick which it took longer for these two girls in front of us at the redbox machine to pick out what they wanted to rent then it did for me to buy a bottle of grape juice and pay for it. We weren't quite hungry when we were in Kirksville so I took them to Buddys so they could experience the hickness of it and try delicious fried pickles. We drove up to the Iowa line so they could see how close we were. When we got by the Iowa sign, Katie wanted a picture so we ran and took one and got right back in the car but it was too dark. After dropping Kaitlin off and getting gas, we came back home. We watched Ferris Buellers Day Off. I did yesterdays bible reading but haven't quite caught up yet. Now Katie and I are watching Friends before bed. I am excited to go see St. Louis tomorrow. Good night!
